To put my name on it and say \"this is me, and this is how I feel\". To release anything with my voice on at all has been a challenge I failed almost every time. Until now. Many of these tracks are the original recordings from 2009. I literally could have put an album out then, but have always been incredibly anxious about sharing my singing. Whilst I often played open mic nights etc, and felt comfortable enough on a stage, releasing my voice on a record was another challenge entirely.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eRecently, however, a confluence of events - redundancy, a fruitless job search, efforts to become a freelance producer (or freelance anything) pushed me to re-evaluate everything. What did I really want from music? Did I want to spend hours, days, making music for other people, just for them to decide they didn't like it? Chasing $$$ never seems to work out well for me (although I really do need to survive, so if you choose to pay for the album, a massive thank-you).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI wanted to get back to my musical core, to get over my fear of using my voice as an instrument of expression. To just be me and that was enough, and go from there. I had grown tired of hiding behind the quest for rave bangers, modern electronic music often showing all the trickery of a bmx competition. I guess age plays a part\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ethere too.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhen I started going back to these recordings, I thought I might re-record them..they seemed kinda raw and unfinished. But I started hearing them through new ears...a lot of these tracks have my most honest and authentic vocals, and that was the thing that resonated the most.
